I write this post as my family is exactly 1 week away from my older brother's wedding. Truly it is bittersweet. He will be leaving us to cling to his future wife, and what a wonderful, godly young woman she is! For this we are truly thankful to God. Recently I was watching the movie "The King and I". I really enjoy watching this musical every once and awhile, and one of those times was last night. One of my favorite songs in the movie is "Something Wonderful". This song beautifully portrays the role of a wife to her husband or a daughter to her father. It shows the reality and beautiful depth of being a supporter, encourager, and lover to a man. Ladies, we need to realize that men need support, encouragement, and love. They have a large load to carry on this earth, especially in this present age. They do not need our nagging, belittlement, or disrespect. It is true, that they will fail and they will make bad choices, but through it all we must stand by them. I don't mean we need to agree with their choices or make excuses for their mistakes, but we do need to stand by "them". Remember love is not a feeling, it is an action and a choice. It is a laying down of one's own needs for the needs of others. It is my prayer that my brother and my future sister-in-love will be able to actively choose each other over themselves and choose God over each other.
Many blessings on you Robert and Rebecca!! We are joyfully anticipating your union on Friday, the thirteenth of May.
Blessings to you dear readers,
Miss Morgan
Beautiful post, Morgan! I loved what you said about supporting our men...I was just pondering the same thing the other day.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your brother getting married, btw--I'm sure, like you said, it will be bittersweet, but I know that it must be exciting at the same time. ;)
I hope you have a lovely weekend!
Blessings,
~Moriah
Dear Morgan
ReplyDeleteI was suprised and delighted to find your comment on my blog a little bit ago! This is the first time since that I have been able to check out yours and although I haven't seen much, I am impressed with all you have written and your testimony that by God's grace shines through! :D I can't wait to read more!
I love the King and I, BTW, and I like the way you wove the Biblical message into this post. :) I never thought about it that way.
Hope you have an awesome day!
Love Katie
Thank you Ladies! You are both such beautiful sisters in the Lord.
ReplyDeleteMay the Lord bless you greatly,
