Feelin' Feminine Modest Fashion Week Day 1

Hello all! I am participating in "Feelin' Feminine's Modest Fashion Week Challenge" http://feelinfeminine.com/?p=8268  that is being hosted by Bramblewood Fashion. http://www.bramblewoodfashion.blogspot.com/ from May 12-19. The purpose of this challenge is to wear only skirts or dresses for a week. There are guidelines such as skirts cannot be above the knee, no sleeveless tops, wearing different hairstyles everyday, etc. but the overall idea is to see what wearing distinctively modest and feminine clothing on a daily basis does for you. Does it make you desperately miss pants, or does it make you carry yourself in a new positive way. Feel free to join me in this challenge if it sounds like fun to you!

Without further ado, here is my outfit for day 1! It is not the dressiest, but today is the day of my brother's rehearsal dinner for his wedding, so I wanted to be more on the casual side for at least half of the day because tonight I am going to be quite dressed up :)

So here's my outfit!

What I'm wearing:
Top: navy blue v-neck from Land's End
Skirt: Made by yours truly from some pretty quilted fabric
Shoes: LOL! This time of year, I don't usually wear shoes around the house :)

Blessings,
Miss Morgan

Something Wonderful

I write this post as my family is exactly 1 week away from my older brother's wedding. Truly it is bittersweet. He will be leaving us to cling to his future wife, and what a wonderful, godly young woman she is! For this we are truly thankful to God. Recently I was watching the movie "The King and I". I really enjoy watching this musical every once and awhile, and one of those times was last night. One of my favorite songs in the movie is "Something Wonderful". This song beautifully portrays the role of a wife to her husband or a daughter to her father. It shows the reality and beautiful depth of being a supporter, encourager, and lover to a man. Ladies, we need to realize that men need support, encouragement, and love. They have a large load to carry on this earth, especially in this present age. They do not need our nagging, belittlement, or disrespect. It is true, that they will fail and they will make bad choices, but through it all we must stand by them. I don't mean we need to agree with their choices or make excuses for their mistakes, but we do need to stand by "them". Remember love is not a feeling, it is an action and a choice. It is a laying down of one's own needs for the needs of others. It is my prayer that my brother and my future sister-in-love will be able to actively choose each other over themselves and choose God over each other.

Many blessings on you Robert and Rebecca!! We are joyfully anticipating your union on Friday, the thirteenth of May.

Blessings to you dear readers,
Miss Morgan

Wonderful Thoughts to Ponder

I was looking through my Bible today and came across a sheet of paper that my Pastor had given out to our congregation quite awhile ago, and was blessed by the words that were written on it.

You are strong...when you take your grief and teach it to smile.

You are brave...when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.

You are happy...when you see a flower and are thankful for the blessing

You are loving...when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.

You are wise...when you know the limits of your wisdom.

You are true...when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

You are alive...when tomorrows' hope means more to you than yesterday's mistake.

You are growing...when you know what you are but not what you will become

You are free...when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.

You are honorable...when you find honor is to honor others.

You are generous...when you can take as sweetly as you can give.

You are humble... when you do not know how humble you are.

You are thoughtful...when you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.

You are merciful...when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.

You are beautiful...when you don't need a mirror to tell you.

You are rich...when you never need more than what you have.

You are you... when you are at peace with who you are not.

Blessings,
Miss Morgan
