Mondays, ah what do I say about them?? It is very easy to see Mondays in a negative light because the weekend is over and schedules and routines start up again. I know for me, I usually spend Mondays planning and thinking about the week ahead...and sometimes that just isn't so much fun...(LOL!) However, I was just thinking and realizing that Mondays are in fact quite special because they are the start to a brand new week. The week before is over and all its days have already been played out, but every Monday you have a whole new mysterious week before you. Sure you may have plans that outline what your week will look like, but you really have no idea what's truly in store for you. As I am writing this, I am realizing that Mondays sort of symbolize our walk as a Believer. Every day is a Monday for the Children of God. Every day is a beautiful mystery. We may have plans for our lives, but as time unfolds we realize that God is the only one who truly knows what is going to happen to us. Just like Mondays symbolize a fresh start, every day for the Believer is a fresh start. "His mercies are new every morning!" Mondays don't have to be the dreaded day that we make them out to be. Every Monday (or any day for that matter) we have the opportunity to lay down our worries, fears, cares, and plans before the Lord. When I look back on my life, I realize that the sweetest times were some of the most difficult times. The blessing of hardship is that it forces us to give our burdens and cares to the Lord because we realize that they are too big for us to carry alone. We are the most joyful when we realize that we can control NOTHING and that God is in control of EVERYTHING. He knows what we need, and He will supply it. No matter what you are facing, He will give you what you need to make it through. So if this Monday is one filled with dreads, give it and the rest of your week to Jesus, and just wait and see what He does!
"Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; Thou hast loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness;" ~Psalm 30:11
